Today as I was reading my son's comment to my last blog, my eyes grew wide and my heart raced at the revelation of what I learned. He told me that I could order episodes of the Second Season of "Desperate Housewives" from iTunes. Oh wow! I never thought of that. I can catch up on the Second Season and find out all those DH secrets that I've missed.
As soon as I got home from work, I clicked the link that he had conveniently embedded in his comment. Then... lo and behold...there it was. It was as if a choir of angels had begun to sing and I looked upon the words. For a mere $1.99 an episode I can watch my new "Friends". Also, if I want to, for $34.99, I can download all of the second season DH episodes PLUS be in the queue for future episodes not yet aired. Yes! This internet is a good thing. Thank you Jason. Thank you internet. Thank you iTunes. I bow before your greatness. Let the second season of "...Housewives" begin.

Desperate Me
Just when I have been saying that there was absolutely nothing on TV to watch since "Friends" quit filming, I was introduced to "Desperate Housewives". Now I had originally thought that DH was just another "reality" show. I was not into watching smart-mouthed female judges, or shows where a snooty English nanny comes into a home to save the mom from her own kids and I certainly wasn't going to watch a bunch of whiney housewives. Nope, that is not what I like to see. I'm not about reality of that sort. I couldn't have been more wrong about DH. It is just the right mix of Hollywood reality and comic relief.
I don't know who I should blame my addiction to this show on. Kim, because he ordered the first disc of the first season from Netfliks and I had to watch it in its entirety...all in one Saturday, or my girlfriend because when she learned that I liked it so much loaned me her set of "Desperate Housewives" whole first season DVDs. It has taken me only one week to watch the whole first season plus extras. Hey, I'm behind by a whole season, I had some catching up to do. But now that the first season DVDs are finished, I had a dilemma...do I wait for season reruns to continue the sequence or do I just jump into the regular shows on TV now?
Well it was Sunday night and I realized that DH was on TV. But since I have never watched it on regular TV I didn't even know what channel it came on. However, I still wasn't sure if I wanted to jump forward in the DH timeline. So as I scrolled through the TV menu, I found it. There it was on ABC, Channel 13 at 8:00 p.m., "Desperate Housewives". It wasn't 8:00 yet and so I just set a reminder. As I watched "My Best Friend's Wedding" for the umteenth time, the reminder popped up. Do I or don't I? Oh, what the heck! I was desperate for new episodes of my now favorite TV series.
So, now I'm hooked. There is no going back. "Desperate Housewives" is going to be with me for as long as the ABC network will carry it. What can I say? I'm in love. :-0

72 Degrees of Spring
Don't you just love Spring Break? The weather has cooperated and given us a perfect day. Even waiting on a plumber to come clear a drain isn't so bad on a day like today. The only problem with Spring Break is going back to work at the end of the week.
Actually I did go to work today. I work at the elementary school just down the road from my house. The custodial staff is there doing some spring cleaning for a few days. So I decided I would take advantage of the school without children and do a little straightening up in my classroom. After spring break we have 2 1/2 months left of school. The kids already have spring fever, so I decided that I would change my teaching format for variety. I needed to move a lot of furniture around to accommodate some centers. My desk needed to be moved, but its very heavy especially since my huge dinosaur computer sits on it and the hefty tower rests on the hanging shelf underneath. I called Kim to help me move the monster. Just as I was getting ready for the big desk move, my custodian came in and seeing the furniture all over the place just said she'd come back tomorrow. "Wait," I said, "what are you going to do?" She had the carpet steamer all ready to clean up some pretty nasty spots on my carpet. I knew it had to dry overnight and there was no way I would finish up work today. So I called her back, cancelled Kim's help, and began moving student's desks away from all the dirty spots in the room. It can dry and I can work on a clean carpet tomorrow.
Kim is out mowing the lawn. It's that first spring mowing that has to cut down the weeds that all of a sudden just sprung up in our yard. It looks so fresh and clean outside. It makes me want to plant flowers. Our patio is very nice this time of year. Kim cleaned the tree pollen off of our patio table and now it makes a very nice spot to sit with a drink. He sat out there today with his computer and coffee, just soaking up the nice day.
What a great time of the year! Summer vacation will be here before we know it. I can hardly wait.
